About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager – IT with deep domain expertise in the Insurance industry to drive the end-to-end delivery of complex technology initiatives.
In this role, you will lead multi-disciplinary teams across development, QA, architecture, and business operations to deliver enterprise software solutions on time, within scope, and within budget. You will champion Agile/Scrum delivery rigor, manage US client stakeholder relationships, oversee project financials, and mitigate operational risks across the full SDLC.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Delivery: Plan, execute, and deliver enterprise IT initiatives, ensuring strict adherence to timelines, budget constraints, quality metrics, and business outcomes.
- Agile Governance & Execution: Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner across business analysts, software developers, QA engineers, and solution architects to translate requirements into actionable project milestones.
- Stakeholder & Client Alignment: Engage directly with senior management and North American enterprise clients, leading status reviews, steering committee updates, and issue escalations.
- Risk Management & Governance: Track project health, proactively identify delivery/technical bottlenecks, implement mitigation plans, and maintain comprehensive project documentation (project charters, plans, RAID logs, and executive status reports).
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, motivate, and mentor engineering teams, fostering technical excellence, continuous improvement, and collaborative execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
- Experience: 8 to 12 years of core IT project management experience, with at least the recent 4+ years dedicated to the Insurance industry.
- Domain Expertise: In-depth understanding of insurance business processes, regulatory standards, policy lifecycles, and core enterprise systems.
- Methodologies: Strong command of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall frameworks; solid understanding of Fixed-Price/Fixed-Bid delivery models.
- Tools & Tracking: Hands-on mastery of project management and tracking suites, including JIRA, MS Project, and Confluence.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage US-based executive stakeholders and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Shift Alignment: Willingness to support US working hours / EST overlap (approx. 9:30 PM – 6:30 AM IST) as required to collaborate with US client teams.
- Education: B.Tech / B.E., MBA, or M.S. from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM / PSM).
- Commercial Acumen: Hands-on experience managing project financials, including P&L, project budgeting, cost control, and gross margin optimization.
- Innovation & Transformation: Exposure to digital transformation roadmaps, process automation, and insurtech modernization initiatives.
