About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst (Tariff Data) to analyze, structure, and model complex utility tariffs, energy rates, and commercial programs.

In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating energy utilization patterns, building quantitative tariff models, and automating data workflows using SQL, Python, and advanced Excel. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional delivery teams across India and the US to validate inputs, maintain model logic, and create insightful data visualizations that drive cost and usage optimizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tariff Modeling & Logic Structuring: Deconstruct complex utility tariffs, regulatory rate structures, and energy programs to build robust, scalable computational models.
  • Energy Utilization Analytics: Analyze historical consumption and billing datasets to uncover cost drivers, identify usage trends, and generate actionable insights.
  • Model Maintenance & Enhancement: Maintain existing tariff databases and models with regular updates regarding price adjustments, billing logic, and custom client requirements.
  • Data Validation & Quality Assurance: Partner with global delivery teams to validate raw input data, ensure modeling accuracy, and resolve computational anomalies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with US and India stakeholders, software engineers, and product teams to resolve tool-level bugs and refine modeling software.
  • Demonstrations & Data Visualization: Develop clear, compelling visual reporting and demonstrations of energy models for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Experience: 4 to 7 years of dedicated, hands-on experience as a Data Analyst.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel: Expert-level mastery in complex functions, formula architecture, pivot tables, data modeling, and calculations.
  • SQL & Relational Databases: Strong hands-on SQL query writing with a solid grasp of relational database architecture and data extraction.
  • Python for Automation: Practical ability to write Python scripts to automate repetitive data manipulation and ingestion tasks.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Exceptional logical reasoning with high attention to numerical accuracy and data integrity.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with demonstrated experience collaborating cross-functionally across distributed global teams.
  • Location: Must be based locally in Pune (or nearby Maharashtra regions such as Mumbai/Nagpur) to attend the mandatory in-person final interview round and meet hybrid office requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior domain exposure to the Energy & Utilities sector, including familiarity with electricity and natural gas tariff frameworks.
  • Experience building Excel VBA Macros and shell scripts.
  • 1+ years of experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment.
